When the idea of seeing the magnificent tigers in the wild first occurred to us in October of 2022, we were woefully naive and oblivious, and had no idea of how to negotiate around a country as vast, complex, and diverse as India. In retrospect, coming across Tiger Safari India on the Internet was our one lucky draw.
Within hours of making the initial contact, Ishana had sent me a complete, customized itinerary proposal that fit our inflexible travel dates. (We also did not know that the important Holi festival fell smack in the middle of our first week in India, which created more scheduling headaches.) From then on, and throughout the entire trip, our communication with Ishana and her staff via email and Whatsapp was easy, direct, and felt personal.
We felt very fortunate to have Tiger Safari India as our vacation planner and our “shepherd” throughout the trip. The planning was professional, detail-oriented, and thoughtful, and took into consideration the many confining demands – rigid dates for arrival and departure, coincidence with the Holi festival, necessitating our vacating to a resort outside the Jim Corbett National Park, the logistics of traversing the vast distance between Delhi and the three national parks we visited (Jim Corbett, Kanha, and Bandhvagard). They even went to the extent of rebooking us into a different lodge when they learnt that a traditional Indian wedding (a high decibel event) was going to take place at the lodge they had first booked.
Naturally we had entirely depended on Tiger Safari India to arrange our accommodations, and they did not disappoint. Aside from the in-park guest house at Jim Corbett, all the other hotel and lodges in Delhi, Kanha, and Bandhvagard were superb and far exceeded our expectation. As an example of their meticulous planning, Tiger Safari India actually supplied us with a care package while lodging at the in-park guest house at Jim Corbett, which made up for the somewhat limited level of service offered by the national park service.
Despite the hair-raising and chaotic state of traffic on Indian roads, we had felt at ease and safe throughout the trip because we were shepherded by a competent, punctual, and reliable team who work for Tiger Safari India. (They were not second or third order subcontractors, as far as I could tell.) (And a special shout-out to Abhishek for his work). Most of them were very nice and they tried their best to keep us engaged. Ditto the park rangers and jeep drivers. We had a total of 12 up-close tiger sightings.
Overall we had a fabulous experience in India in March 2023, in no small measure due to the work of Tiger Safari India. We can recommend Tiger Safari India without any reservation.
We are seriously thinking about maybe visiting Gir N.P. in the future.

I want to thank you and your staff for making all the arrangements for Fred and my recent trip to India. As always it went off flawlessly. We also got to meet some of your partners at Bandhavgarh and learned a little more about the history of the lodges, etc.
I also want to give a special shout-out to Abhishek who you now have working for you. He was an excellent hire and a very bright, intelligent, attentive addition to your staff. He had everything covered and was always there to make sure things were running according to plan. Give that man a raise ( a tongue in cheek saying we use when talking about valuable employees in
America)!
Our driver/guides were excellent and we were very pleased to see the large number of women who were hired by the parks as spotters. These women are very into their jobs and work well with the drivers. English language skills varied but they were spotting things that we would never have seen
and always did an excellent job.

INDIA 2022 – TIGER SAFARI INDIA
My wife and I are well-travelled wildlife conservationists and photographers. We have travelled around the world to satisfy our passion. South America and Africa are amongst our favourites, but India is way at the top of our list for repeats. 7 times spread over 14 years says it all really as each time we plan it with Tiger Safari India. Ishana Vats, the director, is completely tiger barmy…I am sure he will forgive me for saying so. Also a first class photographer….see the website, and he has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things wild. Her team have been trained to provide the best service possible, from detailed planning, execution and follow-up.
Deepkul is a great example of a young manager totally immersed in the job of providing that first class service. Our last trip in November /December 2022 was testament to this. It took a long time to plan a 3 week wildlife trip covering 6 different national parks, 6 internal flights and 3 Indian states. All the lodges were well considered, and the logistics worked like clockwork. We had decided to look for rarer animals this time plus a return to our favourite tiger locations for the final week. It was, as always, a successful venture in all respects, with some wonderful photographic memories. Being in the right place at the right time is the photographers’ maxim, but we are sure Ishana Vats had sprinkled some of her fabled stardust of good fortune on us to ensure it all worked to perfection. No one else has it. Whether it is tigers or temples, or any combination of, rest assured you will get no better service.

I have traveled extensively to nearly 100 countries on six continents and place an incredible value on the comments and posts from other travelers, especially those on TripAdvisor which I consider to be the Gold Standard for serious travelers. The reviews left by others for Tiger Safari India are 100% accurate. If you are traveling to India, the first and easiest decision to make is to contact Ishana Vats at Tiger Safari India to plan the adventure of a lifetime.
My adventure begin over a year ago when I contacted Shard to discuss a customized tiger safari and city tour for a group of eight (8) experienced travelers. At the time, India was not yet open to foreign travelers due to Covid so our plans had to be very fluid. Ishana was in constant communication with me via email as we monitored the travel restrictions until we finally settled on our November 2022 date.
We arrived in Delhi for a two week adventure and from the moment we were greeted at the airport by Abhishek we were thereafter taken care of with the carefullest of details. Our itinerary was complex with multiple domestic flights, hotels, tiger safaris, guides, passenger van, and more for eight people. As I write this review, I am unable to think of a single setback to the itinerary that we experienced during our trip. Abhishek met us several times to to facilitate our activities and airport matters in Delhi. He provided exceptional services and made our first impression (upon arrival) and last impression (upon departure) of India a warm and incredibly wonderful experience.
Our tiger safaris to Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks were epic experiences. We had two safari vehicles for the eight of us, each with both a naturalist (driver) and park guide. We had a safari in the morning and afternoon for a total of eleven safari experiences between the two parks. Our team of guides worked extremely hard to track tigers. This consisted of knowing the land, looking for paw tracks, listening, sensing and simply knowing the behaviors of these incredible animals. Of the eleven safaris, we viewed tigers on all but three so we had a 70% tiger safari ratio. In total we had eleven individual tiger sightings, several of which were so close to the vehicle that I could have reached out and touched one. This also included a mother and two cubs.
At Bandhavgarh National Park, we stayed at the Tree House Hideaway Lodge. The property has four (4) treehouse bungalows so our group had the entire property to ourselves which was a lot of fun. The rooms are large, clean and just a fun way to take in the whole tiger experience. The food and service were exceptional. The staff were so friendly and made us feel incredibly welcomed. Our special thanks to the entire team at Tree House Hideaway for making our visit so memorable. We are forever grateful to this incredible staff.
Our naturalist Ajit met us promptly each morning with the safari vehicle complete with blankets, hotel water bladders to keep us warm in the cool morning air. Our group of four is an inquisitive group and Ajit was able to answer every question and accommodate our every request. He put us on tigers and made our safari experience over the top. He is kind, extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to his guests and making their tiger experience epic. Ajit is a great member of the team. If you are visiting Kanha, request that Ajit is your guide.
Kanha National Park was the next stop on the tiger safari portion of our itinerary. We had a long day including a domestic flight and long drive which ended with an arrival at the beautiful hotel known as Singinawa Jungle Lodge. We were greeted by the entire staff and most notably the GM, Mr. Deepankar. The main lodge, individual cottages and grounds are exceptional and meticulously maintained. The main lodge has fantastic paintings of tigers and makes one feel that they are truly in a jungle and tiger environment. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and made our experience at Kanha a memorable experience.
Our guide/naturalist Akhilesh was an incredible addition to our Kanha experience. I have had many dozens of guides worldwide in my travels and I consider Akhi to be among the best. He is a wealth of information about all things India, he put us on tigers and most importantly he is kind, warm and extremely witty. We had a ton of fun with Akhi and extended an open invitation to him to join us at our homes in the USA if his travels ever take him our way. He is our friend from India!
Our safari adventures ended on an exceptional high and we left this portion of our itinerary in awe of our tiger experience. We continued on to Jaipur to visit the Amber Fort, Wind Palace and several other memorable historical landmarks. Our local guide Conish met us promptly and gave us a great perspective of the city. As with many long trips, there is often an inflection point where the jet lag and hard travel kicks in and the group is tired. I think this happened to us in Jaipur and the group just needed to recharge the batteries and enjoy some downtime. We did this poolside at the beautiful Trident Hotel which is centrally located in Jaipur. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff was kind and attentive to our needs. It is a fantastic hotel if you are traveling to Jaipur.
The city of Agra and the Taj Mahal were the next stop for us. We were greeted promptly at the hotel Japyee Agra by our local guide Shyam. He made a quick on the fly decision to get us promptly to the Taj for sunset rather than a sunrise viewing as scheduled. For me, the Taj Mahal was the sixth Wonder of the World that I have visited and it was just an epic experience. Shyam is a wealth of information and provided knowledge and insight about the Taj that a visitor would never know without local knowledge. Shyam is an exceptional guide, kind and made our visit to Agra an experience that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives.
Our trip ended in Delhi at the Claridges Hotel. This is a beautiful property centrally located and offers a welcome and warm feel for its guests. Our guide Saurabh met us promptly and immediately warmed us up with some opening jokes and fun pokes at life in India. We liked him immediately!! We did not have a particular itinerary so he seemed to improvise and he delivered a full day of exceptional touring in Delhi which included visiting a beautiful memorial to Gandhi, Humayun’s Tomb, and a bicycle trip with shopping in Old Delhi. It was a fascinating day and we can not thank Saurabh enough for his exceptional insight and genuine kindness.
In closing and on behalf of our group, I can’t thank Ishana and the entire team at Tiger Safari India enough for making our bespoke trip to India 🇮🇳 an absolutely fantastic and epic adventure of a lifetime.

Deepkul has been extremely helpful since the time of the inquiry and he has arranged everything for us. We requested for so many changes while planning the itinerary and he kindly replied with our requests. He took care of every little detail on our itinerary since the planning process.
Now that we have done our trip I can assure anyone thinking about booking a trip to India that Nature Safari is the best company to do it.
Our hotels were perfect, clean rooms, delicious food and great service by the staff. Our favorite hotel was Bandhav Vilas in Bandhavgarh.
Safaris were also 20/10, we managed to see 1 tiger in Bandhavgarh and about 10-15 one-horned rhinos in Kaziranga.
Definitely, this was a 5-star experience.

Let me just cut to the chase and say they were fantastic! I would recommend them to anyone who asks. We had a very complex trip. In addition to multiple tiger safaris we went to 7 different cities, and had 4 domestic flights. Every step along the trip was seamless and communication was excellent! There were local guides & cars to receive us at each city to get us to our hotels and checked in. The guides, local to the city, were very informative on our tours and they handled everything from any reservations, tickets needed and restaurant recommendations. There was daily communication with the plan for the day and travel arrangements for our next stop. Not only was it one of the most memorable trips, but it was also one of the easiest I have ever been on. Never had to worry about transportation, reservations, etc. Simply got to enjoy the trip. We have just returned from a Tiger safari trip organized by this wonderful company. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Delhi we have looked after. Our trip involved internal flights and long road trips, but everything went so smoothly. The places we stayed were amazing and the naturalists and drivers supplied by this company were first rate. Amazing Wildlife Trip with Tiger Safari India
A friend and I just completed a 24 day trip to India with the primary purpose of visiting 5 Tiger Parks and to see The Taj Mahal. We worked with an amazing professional and company owner, Ishana Vats.. She planned our itinerary complete with Park passes, accommodations, an airline flight, Naturalist Guide selections, and vehicle transfers between destinations, This was a flawless trip and we could not rave highly enough about the expertise of this company. We were booked into an assortment of Park, Treehouse, Luxury tent, cottage, and hotel rooms and the food and service of each was excellent. She and her Staff kept in touch with us as we moved from Park to Park to ensure we were happy and safe.
We have begun the process of planning a different itinerary for 2023 to experience more wildlife in other areas of the country. Many thanks to Ishana and her wonderful Staff. You helped create a trip of memories.

Amazing 19-days Wildlife & Taj Mahal Tour
2 years ago our planned tour with Tiger Safari India was cancelled for known reasons.
2 years we stayed in contact with Deepkul and Ishana by email and finally in April 2022 we could leave for our first experience in India.
It became an unforgettable adventure, we visited 4 National Parcs, Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Panna. In each we saw tigers, 20 in total on 15 safari’s.
Besides we saw leopard, wild elephant,gaur, sloth bear, deer and a wide range of beautiful birds and other wildlife, a paradise for a nature photographer.
Deepkul organised the tour for us perfectly, the naturalists, the drivers, the lodges…all was arranged faultless.
On arrival in Delhi our baggage was delayed and Deepkul arranged that our bags were delivered 3 days later in Pench…
On our way back to Delhi we visited Khajuraho, Orchha and Agra, the temples are impressing and the view of the Taj Mahal by sunset is breathtaking.
We enjoyed very much the whole tour and are planning already for going back to India next year.

The best of the best
I have used Tiger Safari India 2 times in the past, and had booked a trip for the family for april 2020. Arrival was 2 days after India closed the borders, so no chance of going. Ishana quickly wrote me, that he would try to keep all our money safe, as they were already payed to hotels ect. He kept his promise, and plans were made for april 22. Finally it was time to go and everything went super smooth as planned. The level of service this company provide is top level. There has not been a second on our 3 trips, where we have had the feeling, that things were out of control or so. Tiger Safari India has always managed to get excellent drivers for us, which is reflected in the numbers of tigers and other wildlife we have seen. On the last trip we had a total of 16 drives, and saw 18 different individual tigers. To top that up, we saw jackals, loads of bird and a leopard.
I would highly recommend this company to everyone, and it is not last time i use them for sure.

Outstanding service
Ishana and team excel at creating a custom itinerary with smooth hand-offs to guides/drivers/lodges at every stop. We originally had 2 weeks scheduled with Tiger Safari India, but then expanded to 4 weeks when another travel outfit cancelled because of Covid. Ishana was willing to wait it out with us and India reopened for tourists about a week before our trip started. Before the trip, Ishana was patient and timely on email and zoom calls to finalize all the details which included 5 major cities (Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, Kolkata) and 3 national parks (Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Kazaringa). This involved multiple drivers, domestic flights, and hotel/lodge changes (the longest stay was 3 nights in any location). But at each location we were welcomed by excellent guides and drivers. India is bustling and chaotic, especially the cities roads, which at first was a white-knuckle experience for us. So having welcoming guides and skillful drivers was key to our enjoyment of the trip. If you are planning an adventure to India, then I would highly recommend using Tiger Safari.

Bandhavgarh/Kaziranga/Agra Tour
We did a 10 days tour visiting Bandhavgarh and Kaziranga National Park as well as Agra. We originally wanted to go in 2020 but had to postpone until 2022 due to the Covid pandemic. The trip was amazing and exceeded our expectations by far! On 11 safaris we saw 19 tigers, countless rhinos, elephants including a new born as well as so many other kinds of animals. The lodges and hotel were great, the hospitality was amazing and the food delicious. The tour guides were excellent and had great knowledge and experience. Furthermore, they took into account to all our wishes during the drives.
The whole tour was organzied by Deepkul and his colleagues from Tiger Safari India perfectly from the beginning until the end! Only a few hours after contacting and giving a rough plan what we had in mind, we received a full itinerary reflecting our suggestions. Any additional wishes from our side were considered to our fullest satisfaction. Also, when we had some technical problems with the money transfer from Germany to India every possible assistance was provided. Due to to the Covid pandemic, we had to make four attempts to find a time frame in which it was possible to travel from Germany to India until it finally worked out. In each case Deepkul arranged everything on short notice.
Additional charges were made to a minimum extent, e.g. as park fees had been increased. It was possible to keep the hotel/lodge rates for a time for over two years (and would also have been possible for a period thereafter)!
When another friend of us decided to join us on our trip only a month before going, this was no problem and arranged perfectly. All communication was fast and smoothly. When one of us had trouble flying to India (various flight cancellations and delays), Deepkul was there 24/7 to assist us in any way and find the best solution for the situation which he did!
Tiger Safari India can be recommended to the fullest extent! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Amazing experience
Took 2 solo custom safaris with Tiger Safaris in Mar2022. 4 days in Kanha and 4 days in Bandavgargh.
I could not have asked for better experiences. Having been on 10+ safaris in 5 countries in Africa previously, I had high expectations. And they did not disappoint.
Seeing a tiger in the wild was high on my bucket list. And Ishana’s guides (Narain and Sanjay – more on them later) were fantastic in making sure I saw several. From mere feet away.
Trip was very well planned – to maximize safari time. And the stays were in great resorts, close to the safari gates – so we didn’t waste time every day driving to the safari gates. And his drivers worked with the hotels to make sure all breakfasts were packed and loaded each morning.
Jeeps were comfortable (if a little small).
On the ground execution was flawless – from airport pickups to daily drives to driving between parks. All done with polite drivers willing to go the extra mile – stop whenever I wanted it, help buying me an Indian SIM, finding the kinds of food I wanted to eat. And speaking very good English. Special shoutout to Durgesh – who drive me from Raipur to Kanha, and then Kanha to Bandhavgarth.
In Kanha – my guide/driver Narain was great. Made sure we were perfectly positioned on several occasions to have a full-frontal view of a tiger walking towards us. And he took the time to explain what we has listening/looking for: alarm calls, pug marks. And he had an encyclopedic knowledge of birds. Thanks Narain for an amazing experience.
In Bandhavgarh – Sanjay, my driver and guide was just as good. Getting a good view of tigers in the dense brush, I discovered, is as much luck (right time, right place) as good tracking. And I had both here. He made sure I got some amazing views of tigers up close.
Ishana(the owner) runs a great company. She is understanding and flexible. Checks in almost daily to make sure everything is going well. And her drivers/guides are wonderful.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Can’t wait to go back and do more with this company.

A Grand Adventure
This trip was a wonderful experience, partly because India is fascinating, culturally challenging, physically both ugly and beautiful and because Ishana, with his able assistant Abhishek, made it absolutely stress free. With the help of his network of people all over India, we were met us at every airport to transfer us to our hotel, guided expertly through the National Parks and in the cities we visited and driven expertly through streets crowded with traffic, speed bumps, pot holes and cows. The parks we visited were Kanha, Bandvangarh and Kazaringa. All uniquely different and teaming with wildlife. Although we had only two tiger sightings, one very brief, the other wildlife and birds made up for that. And the lodges at the National Parks are so unique and comfortable, good food, beautiful settings and more than attentive staff. We also did several days of culture outings, seeing the Gandhi Museum, the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and many beautiful tombs, temples. We visited Varanasi, the place where Hindus travel to wash in the sacred river, the Ganges and cremate their deceased loved ones. We were even invited to celebrate the Holi Festival at the home of one of the agents that met the flight. That was the highlight of the trip… the people are warm, welcoming and delighted to meet foreigners.
All this would not have been possible without Ishana and her team all over India. Even though it is, crowded, noisy and there is the fear of getting a little sick from the change of diet, none of those factors got in the way. And it’s also a bargain, no where have I had everything literally organized and taken care of so all I had to do was show up in the hotel lobby or the safari parking lot and my whole day way taken care of! I can’t recommend Nature Safaris enough!
