The chances always remain at 50% : Either you see them or you don’t. However, the number of continuous drives that one does increases the chances of a sighting at least 06 drives recommended. However, we must tell you that no guest of ours in the last 19 years has gone back without seeing at least one Tiger.

In the summer months [March-May], as the forest dries and temperatures during the day reach around 45 degrees C, the animals stay closer to the sources of water. The clearer undergrowth and numerous water bodies on our tracks provide better chances of spotting a tiger. This is especially true of Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Ranthambore.

The coolness the winter month’s [November-February] bring, along with plenty of water still spread about in the jungle, gives us ample chances of seeing tigers walking on the Jeep tracks, and it remains an air of mystery as you may see the Big Cat at any corner during your drive! The sights of our Indian Jungles in winter is a spectacle for the eyes and mind.

We are equipped with both, short to extended itineraries to assist you. Through our guests and our own experience, we would recommend a minimum of 06 nights in the Jungles to increase one’s chances of spotting the Tiger. We’ve had guests explore India for over a month at a time, going through several national parks seeing the richness of our biodiversity, and seeing some cultural sites of interest.

October – February: The weather is very pleasant during October & November, ranging between 30C-12C at its warmest and coldest. Dec-Feb it begins to get cold, ranging from 30C-0C at its warmest and coldest.

March-June: As summer approaches, the weather at its hottest reaches around 45C at noon, although mornings and evenings remain pleasant at around 15C-25C. Light showers are expected June onwards.

Safari and Park

Yes, there are chances of the same. However, they are less common during peak winter.
Yes, the National Park doesn’t fence off most areas, hence there are always chances of encountering the smallest to the largest creature outside the park and even inside the lodge.
Presence of venomous snakes such as Russel’s Viper, Common Krait, Saw-scaled Viper and Monocled Cobra has been recorded. Instructions pertaining to these are briefed at the lodge.
The Safari vehicles are permanently open-air vehicles.
It is mandatory to have a park guide in the vehicle on every drive.
We suggest you carry all your personal medications, and not to depend on any local pharmacy for assistance. Closest medical assistance can be an hour away or more, that too for basic illnesses. Good hospitals will be 4-5 hours away from the national parks.
No, this is strictly against the law, and is a non-bailable offence in the Indian Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.

Yes, may not be of the highest standard, and few and far between.
Only at designated areas as advised by the Guide or driver.
It is strictly prohibited inside the park, and smoking is also discouraged around the National Park as forest fires are easily caused to the tiniest embers.
There are only certain trails open for walking on foot. Permits may need to be sought for the same. Night walks are strictly not allowed without supervision.
We recommend only booking drives exclusively with your own party.

Others

Avoid wearing bright colors including white. Go with earth colors like greens, beige, brown and black. Similarly, strong perfumes and body deodorants should be avoided too as animals have a strong sense of smell and these can distract the animals and make them move away. Furthermore, bright colors may attract insects. The vehicles are open, and hence it is recommended that even in the summers, a light jacket be carried. Not a usual occurrence, but light showers anytime of the year in the forest cannot be ruled out hence a rain jacket along with adequate protection for electronic equipment should also be carried.
All camera equipment is permitted inside. But any documentary/cine cameras requires prior permissions, and their rates are significantly high. Drones are strictly prohibited from being used around the National Parks and Residential areas.
The quality of connection varies among the service providers, in each area. Chances of poor connectivity increase around National Parks. However, lodge staff is always present to assist.
We insist on harbouring lowered expectations of a super-quick Wi-fi connection due to remote-ness of location. However, one or two places may surprise you.
Yes, there are chances of small power surges which could potentially affect your electronic equipment while plugged in, hence we recommend carrying an Extension Board with Surge Protection.c
Yes, it is recommended, as high quality batteries such as Duracell may not be available readily in remote areas.
There are souvenir shops outside the National Parks. Your lodge may have the facility too.
